The Best Christmas Gift For The Meathead In Your Life
Move over Log, the kettlebell has arrived
I was fortunate to exist as a child while Ren & Stimpy debuted on Nickelodeon. If you are unfamiliar with Ren & Stimpy, please click the link above for the whole Log experience. Please resist the urge to purchase your Log until the conclusion of the article.
As you can see, a Log and a kettlebell have many similarities: they’re heavy, can be used as external resistance for squats, can be turned into a chair, and most importantly, they’re better than bad; they’re good! As great as Log is, the kettlebell still has a few advantages.
Aside from squats, you can swing, snatch, clean, deadlift, row, and press with your cast iron playmate. Use a heavy one and lower reps to train for strength, or go lighter with higher reps for metabolic conditioning. Another benefit of working with kettlebells is the ease of transitioning from one movement to another. Watch the video below for an example of a conditioning circuit and how one exercise flows into the next.
You can’t go wrong with a Log or a kettlebell, or you could get both to cover all your bases. Either way, you’re getting a fun and functional gift.
